When the weather cools down and your body craves warmth and energy, there’s one oldie but goodie that comes to the rescue — Gond, also known as Goondh or edible gum. This golden natural resin has been a staple in Indian kitchens and Ayurvedic recipes for centuries. And now, the best quality Gond is available at Palm Tree — your dry fruit destination!

What is Gond?

Gond or Goondh is a natural, plant-based gum extracted from the bark of Acacia and similar trees. It looks like translucent crystals and becomes soft and gooey when cooked. This edible gum is traditionally roasted in ghee before being added to various dishes.

Why Gond is So Good?

Whether you’re looking for a winter immunity booster or a post-pregnancy strength food, Gond is the way to go. Here’s why:

Strengthens Bones & Joints

Gond is rich in calcium and protein, making it excellent for joint health and bone strength.

Natural Body Warmer

A key ingredient in winter foods like Gond Laddoos, it keeps the body warm and energetic.

Ideal for Postpartum Recovery

Traditionally used in panjiri and laddoos given to new mothers for energy and healing.

Tasty & Nutritious

When roasted, Gond becomes crunchy and delicious — perfect in sweets, bars, and
even breakfast blends.

How to Use Gond

Gond is usually fried in ghee until it puffs up, then mixed with dry fruits, flour, and jaggery to make nutritious winter snacks like Gond Laddoos. You can also add it to porridges or granola bars for a healthful twist.
